Following Eurosatory 2026, held from 15 to 19 June, Ludovic Ouvry was invited to appear on Good Morning Business on BFM Business, where he presented OUVRY, the Lyon-based designer and manufacturer of CBRN personal protective equipment.
The company generates €30 million in annual revenue, with 75% of its sales exported internationally, driven by its long-standing references with the French Armed Forces and French Special Forces.
During the interview, Ludovic Ouvry addressed the strategic importance of European industrial sovereignty in the face of increasing international competition. He highlighted the example of a European Defence Agency procurement contract awarded to non-European manufacturers solely on the basis of price, despite competing bids from European companies.
He called for the implementation of a European preference in public procurement to strengthen the continent’s strategic autonomy and emphasized the importance of cooperation, mergers and commercial partnerships between European SMEs to achieve the critical scale needed to reinforce the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB).
