Recognised expert in the CBRN field, Lieutenant colonel Laurent Robert will bring his international experience and knowledge of field expertise to strengthen the brand’s spirit of innovation, attentive to the responders’ needs.
World leader in next-generation CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) protection and decontamination systems, Ouvry announces the appointment of Lieutenant colonel Laurent Robert as CBRN Senior Adviser starting on the 2nd of September 2024. Engineer graduated, Laurent Robert has developed his CBRN expertise first within the French army, then with the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Ouvry brings on board the technical and operational expertise of a specialist who, after numerous international experiences, has an in-depth understanding of field needs. This expert will be involved from the product design phase to their distribution to security, safety, and defence professionals.
Through this recruitment of a CBRN senior officer, Ouvry continues its commitment to hiring practices that support the transition of military personnel into the corporate world, a strategy that has already proven successful on multiple occasions. Laurent Robert
Holder of an Engineering degree in Sciences and Materials, Laurent Robert started his career in the French Army as a specialist officer in CBRN Defence. He spent several years in the Paris region, first at STAT Versailles and then at the DGA CBRN expertise centre in Essonne. As an officer in charge of testing new equipment and later as an operational military advisor, he developed his technical CBRN expertise in the field and worked internationally with allies on chemical risk prevention. He then expanded his operational expertise in Lille and Fontevraud, where he notably contributed to strengthening the CBRN capabilities of the armed forces during the Syrian crisis.
In order to contribute to the chemical disarmament efforts, Laurent Robert joined the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2016. He led the team responsible for verifying chemical demilitarisation activities. In 2021, he joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva, where he supported the safety of ICRC’s staff worldwide, particularly in Ukraine with regards to CBRN risks.
